Another month, another month of being blamed by Wargamer for it raining in these "lovely" isles of ours Tongue

It was a pretty average month all things concerned and the latest Twilight escapades in the Enclave have proved... well hilarous and will probably be enjoyed for the month to come!

Although I must admit that it wasn't me who swapped out the swear word for Twilight, but they don't need to know that... At least not yet Shifty

How did you find Tau Online?
It was long ago, but I stumbled across the proboard forum TO had before moving onto its own URL. I joined up about 2-3 weeks before it moved across and stayed ever since.

What 40k armies do you play and why?
Dark Eldar and Space Marines mainly. I've also got Guard, Eldar, five Chaos armies and several others!

Where does your current display name come from?
It's my original name when I first joined the site back when I had my first Eldar army. Tyross is the name of my lead Farseer.

Where does your current avatar come from?
It's Vauxhall VX220 I have on Forza 3 that I regularly drive in the game is one of my favourite cars in the game. But I also have a feeling I may be changing it soon.

How are you managing those ninja scorpions and dangerous danny these days?
With a cattle prod Tongue.

If you could change one thing in the rulebook or a codex, what would it be?
Allow the Dark Eldar to sweep into other units after massacreing an enemy in combat. That particular rule pretty much renders my Dark Eldar Wych cult army a one-hit wonder...

If you could only have one person from the website with you in a zombie apocalypse, whom would it be?
Probably Rafe. He seems to play on Left for Dead so much that he's practically an expert on the whole zombie acpocalypse thing Smiley

What was the first warhammer model you ever saw?
Deathwing Terminator with assault cannon Smiley

What is your pet peeve about GW?
The Dark Eldar and their lack of love.

Which GW Definition: Games Workshopgame systems do you play?
Mainly 40k and a little Fantasy.

Which is Black Library book is your favorite?
Double Eagle Smiley

Have you ever gotten violent over a game?
Never, can't say the same for my opponents though Wink

How did you find Tau Online?
I honestly don't remember - it's been that long! I think Del may have had something to do with it...

What 40k armies do you play and why?
Most of my armies now collect dust. I bring the Ultramarines out now and then though. I play them because, like many people, I played Ultramarines at first. Of course, only about half a dozen models were ever painted as Ultramarines, but that's beside the point. I returned to them because I hoped, I really hoped, that 5th could rekindle my love of the hobby and replace the relentlessly growing hatred that 4th developed.

Where does your current display name come from?
That information is lost in the mists of time. It is known only to the Harlequins, for it is locked deep within the Black Libarary... probably.

Where does your current avatar come from?
Etna from Disgaea. She rocks. Tongue

If you could only have one person from the website with you in a zombie apocalypse, whom would it be?
FT, so I could blame him for the Zombie Apocalypse. Tongue

Which is your favourite GW Definition: Games Workshopgame system?
Man'O'War. No question. Gothic coming a close second.

Would we be safe if you were an admin?
What makes you think you're safe now? >Cheesy

Which Games Workshop & Warhammer related board do you most enjoy reading?
I don't really enjoy any more than the others - it's the threads, not the board, that interest me.

What is you favourite warhammer 40K race and why?
Oh, that's a bloody hard one... I like the Orks for their comedy, the Guard for their Humanity, the Tau for fighting the hopeless cause, The Eldar for embodying the hopeless cause, the Space Marines [Wolves far, far more than any other] because they are the iconic Men of Legend in the traditions of Jason, Hercules, Beowulf, etc.

I honestly can't name a favourite, but I'll say that I despise Necrons and Tyranids; neither have any personalities or 'soul' you can relate to, and Necron background is absolute klkn.

Which version of the over all rulebook did you like most and why?
3rd. 4th Aulma'd me off no end, and 5th has allowed a new breed of 'empty battlefield' gaming that disgusts me to the core.

Who is your favorite special character?
Wazdakka Gutsmek - the idea of him headbutting a Titan to death is just epic! Grin

What is your pet peeve about GW?
This habit of claiming to encourage 'casual' gaming, then building rulesets that encourage Tournament dick-lists.

Which Black Library book is your favorite?
I guess that'd be Necropolis.

What is your favorite color?
Black.

What is the best thing about being part of Tau-Online?
I suppose it's having a user-base with the intelligence to read the rulebook before claiming to know rules; debating with people who can't spell 'debate' gets tiring very quickly.

How did you find Tau Online?
Probably just through general searching.  I had not been playing Tau very long and I was trying to figure out something about Broadsides.

What 40k armies do you play and why?
At the moment I am switching off between Dark Angels and Orks.  I like fast elite armies, so the Orks are Evil Sunz and the Dark Angels are Ravenwing/Deathwing.

Where does your current display name come from?
It is a combination of "Khan" and "Canaris", after the Khans and Admiral Wilhelm Canaris.

Where does your current avatar come from?
It is profile art by Hyung Tau Kim from a Korean RPG called War of Genesis.  I edit it periodically to change the facial expression.

Where does your custom title come from?
Partly from a book by that name by Paulo Coelho, and partly because I just like the general idea of alchemy and esoteric science.

If you could only have one person from the website with you in a zombie apocalypse, whom would it be?
We don't really have enough female members.

Which is your favourite GW Definition: Games Workshopgame system?
I am pretty split between Fantasy and 40k.  Gorkamorka was my favorite.

What would you do if you were stranded on an island with a bird, a bottle of
rum, snakes and a flare?

Probably die drunk, poisoned, and on fire.

Who is your favorite special character?
Toss-up between Sammael and Wazdakka.  Although I have to give Azrael a special mention since he has done so well for me.

What is your pet peeve about GW?
I don't like the extent to which they have corporatized the advertising, particularly in the magazine.  I would much rather they focus on producing new rule content that can be used with the game rather than trying to sell people what they would have purchased anyway.

Which is Black Library book is your favorite?
Anything by Sandy Mitchell, but "For the Emperor" is probably my favorite.

What would be your advice to members for successful posting in the Serious Debate and Discussion Board?
Keep the "metagame" of a discussion in mind whenever you are posting.  Your opinion is important, and you want to convey it.  But the way in which you convey it is also very important.  You can learn things from arguing with people that have nothing to do with the actual argument.  It helps you learn how to compose your thoughts.  How to present ideas in ways that will influence the opinions of others.  Diplomacy and interpersonal skills.  Being on a forum rather than face-to-face gives you more opportunity to consider an issue and frame a good response.  Don't waste it by firing off opinions like lawn darts and just letting them hit everyone down-field.  Debating is very similar to sparring in many martial arts.  The point isn't really to "win".  Your opponent is not there to be beaten.  He or she is helping you become better, and you should be grateful and show them respect because of that.

What was the first warhammer model you ever saw?
The first I can recall was a Squat Land Train from Epic, although I didn't know what it was until several years later.

Taktika: Waaaagh! Part 1: Head Quaters.

I've read many a tactica on TO, but none that seem to go into any real depth - This is my contribution after playing Orks week in, week out for the last decade (half my life!). Any yoofs out there wanting to rough it with the big boys: feel free to ask questions, I'm more than happy to answer anything. Any grizzled old Nobz, bosses and Mekz out there: feel free to contribute. My opinion on the Ork army list is just that, peoples mileage varies.
On with the show!
HEAD QUATERS
Now, the game requires you to take a HQ choi...
