Conversion Guide: Coverting a Valkyrie to a Vendetta

This conversion is very, very simple and requires nothing more than a steady cutting hand and some glue. Honestly!
1x Small Plastic Rod
For the Lascannons, I have a schawk of Cadain Heavy Weapons spruce laying around with all the Missile Launchers and Motars clipped out (wonder why?). If you do not have this, then picking up two sets of 3 man Cadian Weapons squads will suffice, or perhaps you could con some from friends. Either way works. This conversion was made to be as simple as possible, with little headaches and non-time consuming.
A quick glance at the Imperial Guard Codex states that it has 3 sets of Twin-Linked Lascannons. So 2 sets will be under the wing, and 1 set will be on the side of the cockpit.
The first thing that needs to be done is to shave off the bottom Tri-pod mount off the bottom of the Lascannon. Then one side of the Lascannon needs to be shaved of all decals and rivets, giving a smooth gluing surface to stick 2 together. Repeat for the second set as well. Not shown is i took a small amount of green stuff and plugged up that hole on the side. The hole was there for the "Lascannon Battery Pack" from the Heavy Weapons Team.
Now that the 2 Lascannons are glued together, I glued on a small plastic rod in between them. This does two things: 1)Gives me center of the two Lascannons 2)Gives me something to glue onto the Under-Wing mount of the Valkyrie.
Install the Under-Wing mount as normal, and be sure to shave a tiny bit off on the inside where the plastic rod slips into, giving me a straight Twin-Linked Lascannon and securely glued.
Repeat for both wings.
The Forward Mount is just as simple, just some cutting and trimming.
I used 2 Lascannons, and the two "Lights and Sensors" piece that mounts in the slots on the side of the cockpit.
The Lascannons were then trimmed down to the barrel mounts, and the light and sensor pieces were shaved. I chose to keep the bottom spot lights on the model as the Vendetta has the Searchlight upgrade and it should be shown.
The Lascannon on the Left is the original Lascannon that comes with the Valkyrie, and the other two are the converted ones. Not too shabby? By using the 2 "Light and Sensors" pieces that have the Searchlight on them, both my Lascannons on either side look uniform. Now all you need to do is glue them into their slots on the cockpit.
My poor fella in the backseat now has to climb over a gun to get in...no steps all the way up for him!
And how to add a cable to the wing lascannons:
I took the Lascannon Cable from the Heavy Weapons team and cut it in half, giving me a 90 degree bend. One end went into the back of the TL-Lascannon and another end went into the wing. Short, sweet and simple. Just what I like
Not that bad to do. Tired of waiting for GW Definition: Games Workshopto produce a Vendetta? Then I suggest trying it. I can almost guarantee that the GW Definition: Games Workshopversion will look very similar. Hope this proved useful. Happy Converting!
