"Deploy! Deploy!" screamed Kor'O Au'taal J'Karra into the mike.
"Yes sir" I replied. The titanium craft slid noiselessly out of the mothership. The craft held two people, me and a gunner. Who was our target? It was the gue'la army. I am Kor'ui Tau'n D Demlok. A light suddenly flashed on, blinding me for a moment. To my surprise, it was the commander.
"Get out of there! A wormhole is opening!" ordered the commander. I expertly turned the joystick-like device that controls the ships thrusters.
An ear-splitting noise came from outside the craft. The noise sounded again. A high pitched "eeyrha". The plasma bulbs suddenly blew up. I was instantly covered in a warm slimy substance.
"O'J'karra? Are you there?" I panicked into the mike.
"Get out of TH.Definition: Thunder Hammer.." The connection was lost although I was only a couple hundred meters away.
"eeyrha" came a sound louder than before. But it didn't come from my ship. It came from the damaged Imperial cruiser that was floating by. Suddenly both my ship and the Imperial cruiser were ripped open viciously leaving behind bodily fluids seeping through. I barely survived but this event left me unconscious. My twenty minute reserve of oxygen was quickly running out. I crashed into something. As I took a breath I realized there was fresh air and was glad. It hurtled down throat and into my lungs.
I jerked awake. What I saw was horrifying. It was so horrible it caused a series of events. First I "regurgitated" all the contents in my stomach, filling my helmet. Then I remember taking of my helmet and smelling a fowl smell. Worse than the one of brutish Orcs and of the vicious Tyranids. I fainted. As I flung my legs I knocked over the Imperial Psycher that was making the airbubble which I was now helplessly laying in. Before the Psycher could do anything we were sucked into the wormhole that tore through the endless vacuum of space. There we confronted demons and things from dreams, no, nightmares! Suddenly it was freezing cold and then boiling hot. Those changes disintegrated our clothes, and mind. I gasped as I noticed a giant asteroid was hurtling towards us. It came straight at us as if driven by evil. It reached us in mere seconds before I could react.
It sliced through the air bubble spinning the Psycher towards me. I felt his hot breath. His breathing was strong and slow. He tried pushing his body away from mine but failed for his left hand was severed clean off. Blue sparks flew from both the Psycher and the wormhole. The Psycher started healing himself and the wormhole was fusing us slowly together. In a few short moments, or maybe hours, I cannot tell, there was only one body left and a severed arm spilling its bloody contents all over me. Another giant asteroid would have hit me if the end of the wormhole didn't appear in front of me. The airbubble, which I was still making, flew straight out, just in time, carrying me with it.
Meanwhile back at the mother ship, O'J'karra sent out a search squad to scout out and retrieve any useful wreckage. That's when they found my clotheless body floating in space. The scouts sent out two silver titanium claws one that clamped shut onto my waist and the other on the bloody arm. The scouts gently hauled me to the mothership. There the medics applied many creams, gels and substances to heal my wounds, burns and frostbite. I awoke with a scream, the dreaded nightmares of space filling my head. I was only comforted by the mechanical hum of the machines. I fell back asleep. I woke up what my nurse told me to be three days later and thought of the events that had happened to me in the wormhole. I inspected my body and found it flawless, which was good.
As I was looking for any other sign of wounds the doors opened with a swish and in stepped a beautifully clothed character wielding a staff.
"Aun'O Tau Ko M'yenshi!" I gasped with disbelief. The ethereal signaled his servant to bring him a chair. Then he elegantly strode towards me. He sat on the elegantly carved chair. He too inspected me for any flaws.
"I have heard lots about you over the past three days" said the ethereal.
"There are rumors the scouts found you drifting in space. Others think that you might be the first Tau Psycher since you survived" said O'M'yenshi quietly. "What do you remember?"
"I don't remember much... I remember floating out of my destroyed ship and then...not much else" I said thoughtfully.
"Some say there was an airbubble around you, only Psychers can accomplish such tasks..." he said aloud.
"So...do you suppose that I might have, somehow, turned into a Psycher?" I asked.
"I don't know, yet" replied the ethereal.
"But, your commander, O'J'karra, told me that he saw an Imperial ship rip open and a person float out of the it, then you disappeared with him" explained O'M'yenshi.
"I must have fused with the gue'la" I said to the ethereal.
"That's possible but we can't know for certain" O'M'yenshi reached into his pocket and took out a clear glass ball no bigger than a child's marble. "I need you to close your eyes and focus on this ball" he ordered handing me the ball. As soon as I focused on it, the psychic energy ran through me. I felt the glass ball's weight lift from my smooth, blue palm and levitate. It stayed there for a moment. I heard O'M'yenshi gasp. Then it dropped as soon as I lost focus. He stared at me for a moment with awe. Then regaining his calmness he said
"You are a Psycher..." whispered the ethereal calmly but with some surprise. A blast rocked the ship sideways.
"We shall talk more at a later stage, get rest now" he told me. Then he stood up left without a noise. I marveled at the little ball that had been floating just a second ago. I put it away and I lay down on the soft bed. I lay there not believing what I have experienced. And what I have yet to experience...
