Right, well these 3 units sit fairly close to the back (but still in range) and focus fire key targets. for most of the game, moving in to take objectives & the like lategame. These guys rely heavily on the pathfinders for support, as they're pretty poor for damage output without them.

And these 3 act as the 'assault' element. assault in this case means running forwards, drawing aggro, then running screaming, but trying to keep that magic 18' range in play. Pinning squads is unlikely in the fearless dark future, but the main idea is to pull squads out of cover where they can be truly raped. Its unlikely that these 3 squads will survive the battle in the current state of Tau blance.
