I finished these "Dragons Teeth" tank traps many days ago, however I made the "teeth"half a year ago but never finished them; So when I found them last week at the bottom of a box I thought I'd finish them off.
Materials:
  • Pink foam
  • Static grass
  • Sand
  • PVA
  • Small piece of MDF board (I used cardboard, but MDF works better)
  • Paper clips
  • Water based paint (Black, codex grey, fortress grey, skull white, boltgun metal, mithril silver, brown ink and scorched brown)
  • Detergent
Tools:
  • Stanley knife
  • Old/Worn out Brush (For applying glue)
  • Good brushes (For applying paint)
  • Sand paper
Method - Preparing
1.  Cut the foam into 3cm high 2cm wide and 13cm long pieces. That's enough to make 6 teeth.

2.  Mark out 3cm spaces 1cm apart on the bottom. Do likewise on the top, but be sure that you start 1cm in from the end.  (Refer to image)

3.  Then connect the marks as on the pic, and cut along the green lines.

4. To make your 6 teeth cone shaped, mark a 1cm square in the middle of the top surface, and cut so the corners of the top 1cm square meet up with the bottom 3cm square.

5.  The basic shape of the teeth is now done, and it's time to make them look weathered and damaged.  Use your finger to pinch off bits, hack and slash with a knife, make bullet holes with a pen, cut them apart etc... (I even used cement glue to dissolve away some of the foam)
6. Straighten your paperclips, and cut them into bits of approximately 4cm long.  Twist and bend these to make them look like bent reinforcement bars.
7.  Where you have made deep holes, push the paperclips into the foam in a pattern that looks like damaged reinforcement bars.  When you are happy with how it looks, remove the clips from their holes.  Dip the end that fits into the foam, in PVA and then insert it again.
8. Cut a 21"x5" piece of MDF and sand down the edges until you have a finish that blends nicely into the table top.
9.  Glue the teeth to the MDF with PVA glue; make sure that they are little more than 1" from each other.
10.  Using watered down PVA glue sand to the base.
Method - Painting (Let the pain dry in-between steps)
11.  Give the whole thing 2-4 coats of Black (Not spray,) that has been mixed with a little detergent.
12.  Using a larger brush, heavy dry brush the whole teeth with codex grey, and again with fortress grey.  Highlight the base with the same colours, but not nearly as much.
13.  Water down some scorched brown, to the consistency of an ink, and paint it around the bars, to make it look like the rusty water from the bars has run down and coloured the concrete.
14.  Dry brush it skull white, and paint the bars boltgun metal.
15.  Highlight the bars in mithril silver, paint cracks and bullet holes black.
16.  Apply watered down brown ink to the bars.
17.  Paint random spots 'n dots on the base with watered down PVA, and apply static grass.
Have fun playing with your new tank traps, and may they stop many tanks, except yours, they will skim right over the top.
The end result should look something like this:
