Here is a simple guide to quickly, easily and effectively paint your Emperor's children ready for the table-top!

Step 1

I assembled the miniatures and undercoated them by hand (I didn't have any spray at the time)Chaos Black.[gal_img]964[/gal_img][gal_img]969[/gal_img]

Step 2

I quickly drybrushed the whole model usingcodex grey. This looks a bit harsh at the moment but looks better at a later stage. Only one highlight keeps the process quick but still looks effective.[gal_img]970[/gal_img]

Step 3

All the areas that will be pink on the model were given several coats of warlock purple. Get creative when choosing which parts of the model to do as this is were your army gains variety and makes each trooper different.[gal_img]971[/gal_img][gal_img]972[/gal_img]

Step 4

After a quick touch-up of the areas around the purple withchaos black the areas coloured purple were then given LOADS of coats oftentacle pink. I mean loads of coats here otherwise the colour will look patchy and poor.Gallery image

Step 5

The next step is to water down a small amount ofwarlock purple. This purple is used to shade the edges of the armour and such on the pink parts. I do not do any highlights on my normal squads but save it for my HQs and other special "centre of attention models".[gal_img]974[/gal_img][gal_img]975[/gal_img]

Step 6

All the metal areas on the model are drybrushed withboltgun metal.[gal_img]976[/gal_img]

Step 7

Finally all the details are done. The plumes were overbrushed withenchanted blue, the skulls and other bone details painted withbleached bone and the horns on one of the helmets were paintedbleached boneand then given a wash ofbrown ink. The eyes were carefully painted withscorpion green as well as the plasma on the gun, which was overbrushed with the same colour. Some details on the metal were picked out withshining gold.[gal_img]965[/gal_img][gal_img]966[/gal_img]
