2nd Phase Colonies:

These are the worlds colonised in the 2nd sphere expansion.  2nd Phase colonies are much smaller and less populated than their 1st Phase cousins, but still have key parts to play in the running of the empire.

Au'Taal:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Green
Description: Au'Taal is a paradise world, beautiful scenery and verdant green lands are their hallmark. This world is almost a holiday spot, where many Tau who have freedom of movement, or are retired spend their days. However because of this holiday like attitude, the Tau from Au'Taal are stereotypically viewed as lazy and unproductive. A Tau from this world is likely to be quite laid back and calm, with a rather easygoing attitude in comparison to many other Tau's strict rules and regulations.
Notable Characters: none

N'Dras:

Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Unknown
Description: Very little is known about this Sept world. The world was quite recently voluntarily abandoned by the majority of the colonists. It is unknown why, but those who stayed behind are stereotypically untrustworthy. General Characteristics include being choleric and quick to temper, but also brooding and melancholic. There is suggestions of some-kind of disaster or alien influence that caused this. However a Tau from this planet is likely to dubious, and aloof from other Tau, like the dark cousin, perhaps even antisocial.

Ke'lshan:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour:
Description: Ke'lshan is situated next to the Perdus Rift, a tear in reality that is suggested to allow passage from the warp into the material universe. Checkpoints and fleet patrols keep this area heavily monitored. Ke'lshan has suffered heavily from the deprivations of many alien races, perhaps even chaos daemons. Due to this they are very untrusting of alien races, often even openly hostile to them. The people of Ke'lshan have a large space fleet, and their world is very much centred on the building and manning of the ships that patrol the Perdus Rift. A Tau from this world is solemn and reserved, untrusting and even hostile to strangers, perhaps even a bit ignorant of other cultures.
Notable Characters: None

Elsy'eir:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Unknown
Description: Elsy'eir appears to be a fairly peaceful Sept. Little is known about either it's climate or it's characteristics, but the world does have a reputation for the arts. Elsy'eir appears to be the cultural capitol of the Tau empire, producing great works of art and poetry in large numbers. Because of this Tau from this world are viewed as creative and intellectual. This world is probably favoured by the water caste due to the artistic influence. A Tau from this world would seem 'cultured' by comparison to other Septs, well versed in poetry and literature, which is famous throughout the empire.
Notable Characters: none

Tash'var:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Unknown
Description: The world of Tash'var is a frontier world, constantly under threat from Orks and pirates. As a frontier world it is quite militarised, facing attacks often and so it's inhabitants have developed a wild and defensive ethos. the Tau on Tash'var are usually seen as tenacious and hardy, with their bravery well known throughout the empire. A Tau from this sept may have something in common with those from D'yanoi. Used to living in less developed communities, and learning to overcome the multitude of challenges that face life on the frontier. They may also have similarities to Tau'n as pioneers and explorers.
Notable Characters: none

Vash'ya:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Unknown
Description: Vash'ya is a major air caste planet. Known as the "world between spheres" because of it's contribution to the air caste fleet, which shuffles in-between each Sept. Due to the high proportion of air caste on the planet, many of the empires best pilots and admirals hail from vash'ya. A Tau from this world is likely to be well versed in the art of flight and have knowledge of much of Tau space, being well travelled.
Notable Characters: none

T'olku:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Bright Green
Description: T'olku is a famous diplomatic centre. They have developed a reputation for being very skilled diplomats, many succesful diplomats who establsihed relations with other races hailed from T'olku. Their Diplomatic skills, mean they produce a large number of skilled ethereals, who have acheived high positions of government in the empire. A Tau from this world is likely to be water or ethereal caste, and will be skilled in oratory making them excellant debaters and negotiators.
Notable Characters: none

3rd Phase Colonies:

These are colonies only recently established in the Tau Empire. Only two are named, though there are suggestions in other books and media that suggest that there are a few other Septs which are not named. This may be an attempt by Gamesworkshop to allow creativity and individuality to exist, similar to the 2 unamed primarchs.

Ksi'm'yen:
Sept Symbol: Article image

Sept Colour: Unknown
Description: Ksi'm'yen is one of the newest Sept worlds to emerge, unlike many it has yet to create it's own image, but it has much potential. Conquered mostly by stealth units, the Imperial garrison that held it was very limited due to redeployment. As such Ksi'm'yen wa captured relatively easily. The Tau of Ksi'm'yen have shown potential in subterfuge and are relatively subtle and oppotunistic. A Tau from this planet could make a skilled diplomat or a specialised stealth team leader. This is particulrly apt considering how the planet was won over by the empire.
Notable Characters: None

Fi'rios:
Sept Symbol:Article image

Sept Colour: Unknown
Description: Fi'rios unlike it's sister sept Ksi'm'yen was quick to establish its reputation. It's geography is similar to Tau's with aird wide open plains. However the Planet is famous for it's colonisation. Unlike Ksi'm'yen, Fi'rios had to be wrested from the grip of an Ork warlord. Doing so cost many Tau lives, and the people of Fir'ios have become known for their tenacity and refusal to accept defeat. However they are also known for stoicly adhering to the Tau'va despite their stubborness. A Tau from Fi'rios is likely to be incredibly stubborn and proud, yet also quite fanatically true to the Tau'va. This world looks set to become and powerful and major Fire Caste world to rival Tash'var or Sa'cea.
Notable Characters: Shas'O R'myr1

1Shas'O R'myr was involved in the colonisation of Fi'rios, so may have been part of the colonisation fleet, but he may also be a native of Tau due to colouring on his armour.
