Ork Skullhamma Battlefortress "Wartanker"

Shown here with a regular Trukk for scale. I originally intended it to be about the size of a Baneblade, but it turned out a fair bit larger once the plow was added.
This super-heavy crawler forms the heart of an Evil Sunz warband calling itself the Mekanikal Orkestra. Unlike most vehicles of its kind it is rarely deployed to the front. It is normally positioned immediately behind the advancing waves of Warbikes and Trukks. This allows it to serve as a base for replenishing fuel and ammunition for the horde whilst bombarding enemy positions from afar. This conservative approach to fighting obviously holds little appeal for the Orks, so the Wartanker is mostly crewed by Gretchin and directed by one of the older Big Meks.
The Wartanker has less than 6" of ground clearance, and so relies on its massive plow to clear itself a path through rough terrain and rubble. In addition to the main gun it is armed with a pair of kannons in shoulder turrets and a third cannon fired from the crew compartment. Would-be boarders are deterred by heavy weapons fire from defensive outposts on both sides. A unique feature of the shoulder turrets allows the guns to be dismounted in battle and fixed to mobile carriages stored within the hull.
The rear Land Raider was salvaged from an old Black Templar army. The doors and hatches were stripped off and battle damage was applied. The sides of the second Land Raider were attached with plastic tubing and heavy pins. Plasticard spars were added for strength. Over time plates and spikes were added to cover the joins and attach the shoulder turrets. I used the Supa-kannon from Forge World as the main weapon, and also ordered the fuel tank from them. Other bitz come from Ramshackle Games line of "tridlins".
The plow was not part of the original design, but was added when the parts were graciously donated by other local gamers. The Grot crew was assembled via other trades. The entire assembly was kept in multiple pieces until painting was nearly complete. It was necessary to hold the battlewagon down with epoxy.
Like the rest of the army, painting was kept very simple. A coat of Mechrite Red was applied over a black undercoat on any non-panel surface. Metal bits were picked out in either Boltgun Metal or Tin Bitz. After that a Devlan Mud wash was applied to everything. Details were picked out in Blazing Orange. Ork krew were painted with Orkhide Shade followed by Knarloc Green. Grots were painted with Gretchin Green followed by a 50/50 mix of Gretchin Green and Dheneb Stone.
The Wartanker uses the Skullhamma datasheet. Ten crew slots are occupied by the shoulder turrets, with the Gretchin crew occupying another 6-7. The remaining space is occupied by a Big Mek with a Kustom Force Field and either a mob of Nobz or Grots.
This configuration allows me to disembark the guns if I need to, but it also means I can't fire some of them on the move. Grots or Troop Nobz make the vehicle scoring, and the Big Mek allows it to screen nearbly vehicles.
