Regarding Commander Farsight

My name is Hashoosh'yon, hello; I am the commander of the forward offensive and reconnaissance force in Commander O'Shovah's army. I am unable to tell you where we are currently located, because I no longer know. The commander has been acting strange ever since he came into the possession of "the artifact." I must admit, that this is mostly my fault. You see, Commander Farsight was not the one who originally found "the artifact." It was I who discovered the existence of the item, and its location. The circumstances under which this occurred were most strange.
Our fleet approached a barren planet that had an atmosphere capable of sustaining life. Commander O'Shovah ordered a landing party to embark for the surface, which was composed of my force, him, and several of our veterans. While still in our landing crafts, we passed over many strange structures. They were tall obelisks that were curved ever so slightly to one side. The color of the structures was a deep black; so intense was the darkness of the buildings, even the light seemed to be trapped by them. Each obelisk seemed to be placed at random within clusters. Although they seemed to be very primitive in their nature, they did not show any of the qualities that a simple civilization usually exhibits. The cities were not built on high points; they were not surrounded by defensive constructs of any kind. They simply were where they were. We landed in an open expanse of land, far from any visible structures. By this time, it was dark, and we made camp.

I was awoken that night from a dream, a phenomena which seems to occur only when close to powerful warp entities. What I experienced that night bewildered me beyond anything I had experienced previously. As I drifted into unconsciousness, I found myself walking down a dark hallway which never seemed to end. I was alone in the corridor, but I felt as though I was being watched. Then suddenly the voice of a woman, coming to me from what seemed to be a great distance, was audible. She was whispering ever so faintly, so I rushed towards the source to hear more clearly. The voice was frail in the breeze that brushed my ears as I ran. After some time I collapsed, exhausted. And it was at this point that she seemed to be whispering directly into my ear. It was still faint, but I could understand what she was saying. She spoke slowly, as if it was a struggle to form every word. She said, "You should not have come here, this is a cursed place. No one has escaped the darkness of this world. Even if you physically leave, your very essence will remain here." At this point, I awoke from my dream suddenly. I was wide awake, and the voice continued to speak to me.
"You know where you need to go." I thought then, that she was surly mad. I knew nothing of this world and I surly... But I did know. It was the strangest thing. I was driven to my piranha with ferocious speed. And I took off towards the horizon to find a spot to which I had never been, but I felt as if I had known it for all of my life. I arrived at my destination, an obelisk which only differed from the others because of the fact that it was alone instead of in a cluster. I dismounted, and entered the archway which had no doors, at the base of the structure. The hallway was short, approximately 100 meters long, and ten meters wide. Statues of strange creatures adorned the walls, and at the end of the hall there was a pedestal, illuminated from an unseen light source. As I approached, I could see the light reflecting off of a blade of some sort. I stopped just a few meters from the weapon, not because I wanted to, but because I felt a strange sensation come over me. I felt that I had done something wrong. I felt worthless. Soon, I regained my composure and walked the remaining distance towards the blade. I reached for it. It was almost in my grasp when I was stopped again. This time however, it was not my mind that stopped me, it was the woman. I could not see her, but I could feel her hand clutching my arm, holding it away from the blade. I thought it was the woman from my dream, but when she spoke, I knew for a fact that it was.
"This is a weapon of great power. Never before has an outsider looked upon it. If you choose to take the blade, I will not stop you, but the gods of fate intend for this to fall into another's hands. You see, this is a gift for Commander Farsight. The gods themselves wish him to have it. So, if you take the blade, you will be judged by those whom you do not want to be judged by. The four gods fight constantly, but they all agree on the fact that this weapon must only be wielded by your commander. Now go, and call for him." The hand that I felt holding me back was suddenly gone. Although I never saw the woman, I heard her whispering into my ear as before. I felt uneasy. I felt that if I gave the weapon to Farsight, that it would be his undoing. But I had no other choice. I turned and exited the obelisk, and called Commander O'Shovah from the radio on the piranha. I told him to follow the distress beacon to find me. He arrived shortly after. I told him of the blade, but not of the woman or the dream. He asked me how I found this place, but I did not have an answer for him. We entered the obelisk together, and once we did, I noticed a change in my commander. His speech became more raspy, and he moved with a speed which I had not witnessed before. I was still catching up when I saw Farsight turn, the blade in his hand. His eyes seemed cold and callus. I felt as though he was peering into my very soul. He then spoke.
"We have work to do." He exited the building and sped off, leaving me behind. I rushed to my vehicle and started after him, but he had too much of a head start. When I arrived back at the landing zone, Commander Farsight was instructing the troops that we were leaving. He said our mission had been a success. I was not aware that we had even had a mission. We then left the planet, just as hastily as we had arrived. As soon as we were back in orbit, I felt strange. I felt that I was no longer whole, and I sensed that my commander felt the same.
